The project will be implemented in the area of the city of Isfara in Tajikistan and in the western part of the Batken region. GIZ is currently implementing a project on the Isfara and Khodja-Bakirgan rivers, including the ratification of the interstate framework agreement on cross-border cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. This agreement can serve as a legal basis for the activities of the proposed project, such as the establishment of local stakeholder committees and the development of an IWRM action plan.
